Tranquil camp by the Alice river
Short-beaked Echidna that would not open up, although we sat on a log nearby for ages. This species of Echidna has strikingly attractive quills compared to the brown quilled long beaked Echidna that we came across in Victoria.
A dry river bed walk
Stunning in emerald green, fast in flight –the Mallee Ringneck parrot. It is smaller than the Western Australian Ringneck that we admired so much last year.
Brand new campsite toilet block financed by the council, built by a grand bunch of carpenters and plumbers, and solar powered .
