Short-beaked Echidna that would not open up, although we sat on a log nearby for ages. This species of Echidna has strikingly attractive quills compared to the brown quilled long beaked Echidna that we came across in Victoria.

Stunning in emerald green, fast in flight –the Mallee Ringneck parrot. It is smaller than the Western Australian Ringneck that we admired so much last year.
