After rains on the Oodnadatta track
Flowers following seven days rain!
Semi wild camel – one of two and too far away from the track for good photos.
Flood Culvert for the Old Ghan Railway embankment
Algebuckina Bridge was completed in 1892 for the Great Northern Railway (The Old Ghan route) It spans the Neales River and its flood plain. The bridge is made up of nineteen 30.9metre spans and is the largest single bridge in South Australia.
Algebuckina Bridge was strengthened in 1926 to carry heavier rail traffic. Sad to see it neglected to-day.
