Yellow footed rock wallaby – these pretty wallabies, once abundant, were almost hunted to extinction for fur by European settlers. This wallaby was reduced to a mere 30 in the Gammon Ranges so their gene pool must be small.

They have now ‘bounced back’ after huge efforts to eradicate thousands of feral goats, and rabbits.

We came across feral male goats rutting and spotted the odd rabbit - still around unfortunately.
