Artist Gloria Petyarre - Bush Medicine
Bush Medicine depicts the leaves of a special plant that is used to aid the healing process of cuts, wounds ,bites rashes and as an insect repellent. The leaves are collected and boiled to extract resin. The resin is then mixed with kangaroo fat collected from the kangaroo’s stomach, creating a paste that can be stored for six months in bush conditions.
