Cousin Sonja Hoffmann was born at  Meringie (south of Narrung) in 1951!

Point Malcolm Lighthouse – The only inland lighthouse in Australia and also the smallest at 7m tall.It was constructed to mark the narrow passage between Lake Albert and Lake Alexandrina..  First operated in 1878 until 1931 and its lighthouse keepers were self sufficient, even selling extra crops. They stored perishables in a small cave until a boat called to transport them to other settlements..
