Purnong Ferry crossing – we found that all these little ferries provide a 24hr free service
Tranquillity on the Murray
East of Purnong Ferry crossing
‘The Bend’ – River Murray
Little Corella’s ! Noisy, yet music compared to the sulphur crested cockatoo
Swan Reach Ferry – 24hr service!
Camping next the River Murray at Tenbury – Hunter Reserve, Swan Reach
Concrete Loo approx 2.5m dia with flush toilet and sink inside – clean and spacious!
Campsite viewed from Reserve – Black Box River Gum and salt bush in foreground
Pelican cruising on the Murray yet we never saw them catch a single fish.
The mighty River Murray – Third longest navigable river after the Amazon and the Nile! The Murray is continuously navigable for 1986 km from Goolwa to Yarrawonga – some journey!
Calder Ferry crossing – another little ferry operating 24hr service and one can ring at night if the ferry is stationed across the river. However there is a bill waiting to be passed that would see the end of this ferry service and many like it.
Graeme Claxton Reserve near the ferry crossing
Young Sand Monitor near river bank – these grow up to 1.6m in length
Another clean roomy concrete loo!
See!
