Byfield National Park – Queensland 22-09-11

Approximately 70km north-east of Rockhampton, the National Park lies within the spiritual homeland of the Dharumbal people who have been living here for thousands of years. The Dharumbal Nation is made up of five tribes with smaller clans. The Byfield clan are the Butcha-bura (Butcha meaning ‘banksia’ and bura meaning ‘men of ‘

Today descendants of the Dharumbal Nation are returning to re-establish spiritual and cultural ties to their country.
