Cottonwood (Hibiscus tiliaceus) This shady spreading tree is common along the seashore dunes and estuaries here. The flowers only last for a day or so, turning to a rusty-red before falling.

Radjah Shelduck one of a pair at Halliday Bay campsite although the local name is ‘Burdekin Duck’ since many live on the Burdekin River. It has a band of rich forest green feathers, just below the upper wing. This duck breeds in tree holes near water.
