Lamington National Park – Queensland 10-11-2014

We have no camera now - so naturally once settled at the National Park campsite, these uncommon birds arrived to taunt us.

TopknotPigeon
The Topknot Pigeon once observed in flocks of thousands  by early Europeans before clearing and uncontrolled hunting.
Wonga Pigeon2
Photo by Steve Hitchcock - Wonga Pigeon, also once common before land clearance. However their numbers are increasing in the Northern Rivers Region where the Camphor Laurel is widespread.
Green_Catbird
Heard the Green Catbird late afternoon.
