Boab tree (Adansonia gregorii) First Australians name for this tree is Jamulang
Pith inside the fruit of the Jamulang was eaten or mixed with water and drunk. The inside of young Jamulang trunks were also eaten.
A youngish Boab still bearing leaves. Apparently these trees flower at any time, though generally during the dry season when the leaves are shed. The flower is a white looking similar to hibiscus having long stamens. I looked in vain just to see one.
Tall Mulla Mulla (Ptilotus exaltatus)
New Holland Rattlepod (Crotalaria novaehollendine)
Diamond Dove
Female Great Bowerbird?
East Baines River crossing at the marker posts – looked too risky to us bearing in mind the crocodiles.
