A new campaign by Labour and Education secretary Nicky Morgan wants to change that - and are starting to address the imbalance by lobbying for a statue of Mary Wollstonecraft.
Her work, included the 1792 A Vindication of the Rights of Women, had a revolutionary effect on feminism and political thought.
