On Savannah Way to Tunnel Creek and Windjana Gorge National Parks W.A. 21-09-10

Delightful vista out from the tunnel

Tunnel Creek roars through here during the wet season - soon to come now!

Strange slender trees able to withstand the harsh climate and winds across the plain

addendum from M's 'we think these are desert oaks - we saw them in the NT, apparently they grow tall and thin like that while they send down their deep deep root to survive the dry - and when the tap root has reached the right level they then begin to grow their canopy.'

hi S - we think these are desert oaks - we saw them in the NT with Ben and Pip - apparently they grow tall and thin like that while they send down their deep deep root to survive the dry - and when the tap root has reached the right level they then begin to grow their canopy. Mx
