Amazing Lava tubes - reputedly the longest in the world although only a handful are open to us.
can be traced by aerial survey because darker ribbons of vegetation grow above in the rich mineral soils.

Hypippamee National Park - Atherton Tablelands 29-08-10






This is such a deep volcano vent that it actual depth not surveyed to date !

Hypippamee National Park is a tiny remnant of real Wet Tropic rainforest, supporting huge trees and lush vegetation that 200 years ago covered much of the Atherton Tablelands.
